Abstract
One of the efforts made to create a disaster resilient sub-district is to prepare a preparedness procedure known as a Kelurahan flood disaster contingency plan. This document was prepared in a participatory manner by the people of Petompon Village. This document contains information related to flood-prone locations, vulnerable communities, evacuation routes and temporary evacuation sites, the organizational structure and work plan of the Disaster Preparedness Group (KSB), as well as guidelines for coordination, communication mechanisms and the role of related parties in flood preparedness. This activity is carried out in collaboration with the city government of Semarang (Regional Disaster Management Agency-BPBD), National NGO (Mercy Corp Indonesia), local NGO (Initiative for Urban Climate Change and Environment-IUCCE) and Higher Education in this case Regional and City Planning Diponegoro University . This activity is carried out as an effort to help the community in Petompon Village as one of the sub-districts located along the West Flood Canal, Semarang to have the right planning in dealing with flood risk. The method used is the Forum Group Discussion (FGD) or focus group discussions. With this procedure, it is hoped that the community will be more prepared, resilient, and responsive in facing flooding, and can participate in reducing the risk of flooding in their area.
