City Resilience Index Measurement

Measuring the City Resilience Index is a method (tools) used to understand the resilience of a city. In Semarang City, resilience index measurement carried out through two (2) programs, namely: (1) City Resilience Index (CRI) calculation developed by ARUP; and (2) Urban Community Resilience Assessment (UCRA) in collaboration with the World Resources Institute (WRI).

  1. City Resilience Index (CRI) Calculation
    City Resilience Index (CRI) is a follow-up initiative program for the preparation of the Semarang City Resilience Strategy Document. CRI was carried out from July – September 2017 using qualitative and quantitative methods covering 52 indicators of the city resilience index. The 52 indicators grouped into four (4) aspects, namely (1) health and welfare; (2) infrastructure and ecosystems; (3) economic and social; and (4) leadership and strategy. The results of the CRI measurement provide an overview of the resilience of Semarang City and can be used to provide input in the formulation of development planning indicators.   1. Urban Community Resilience Assessment (UCRA)
    Urban Community Resilience Assessment (UCRA) carried out in September 2017 – February 2018. UCRA carried out by measuring resilience at three (3) levels, namely cities, communities, and individuals. Resilience assessment at the community and individual scales focused on being carried out in three (3) Kelurahan, namely: Kaligawe, Sukorejo, and Tanjungmas. The data collection process carried out through primary data (FGD, primary survey, interviews, and questionnaires) and review of secondary data. UCRA can provide an overview of community resilience in different locations at the community level. Document can be downloaded in the section of “Knowledge Development > Reports/Activity Documents”.
