Abstract
‘Integration’ is a buzz-word in almost all disciplines, from engineering to economy and from physical to social science. Invitations to develop more integrated strategies have been a central message in urban development studies and literature. While in developed countries the notion of integration has been manifested in various aspect of urban development, most of actors and policy makers in urban developing countries have been struggling for achieving integration. This paper highlights recent efforts of the city government of Semarang in enhancing urban resilience trough development of city resilience strategy. The objective of this research paper is to introduce an analytical framework to foster integration of strategies. This research employs qualitative approach. It takes advantage from the role of researcher as cross-focus areas coordinator in development of the city resilience strategy. This paper helps urban practitioners to do step-by-step approach toward integration of urban strategies, particularly in the field of urban resilience.
