The World Urban Forum (WUF) is a non-legislative technical forum convened by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) held since 2002. World Urban Forum in 2002 was held at Kenya, while in 2004 was held at Barcelona. The next session was held at Canada in 2006. The fourth session of the forum was held at China, 2010 was held at Brazil, in 2012 was held in Italy, 2014 was held in Colombia.
In this year at 2018, The ninth session of World Urban Forum was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Theme of the Ninth session of the World Urban Forum (WUF9) “Cities 2030, Cities for All: Implementing the New Urban Agenda” – places the Forum’s focus on the New Urban Agenda as a tool and accelerator for achieving Agenda 2030 and the Sustainable Development Goals.
IKUPI Semarang is participated in some activities at 9th World Urban Forum one of them is networking event “ Planners For Climate Action : Urban and Territorial Planning As Means to Carbon Reduction and Community Resilience “ . In this event, participant can share about climate change issue and how to adapt in climate change. Urban and regional planners have a key role to play in helping cities address climate change. Through this event, expected that the countries in the world have plan for the city in the future.
